Born into a deeply musical family, Poppy Duverné grew up surrounded by his father—a musician and songwriter—and his uncles Daniel and Rigaud Duverné, both key figures in the Haitian evangelical music scene. At a young age, he explored several instruments—drums, bass, guitar—before choosing the keyboard as his main instrument.

His professional journey began with the gospel group Jehud, then as keyboardist and singer for Alabanza, marking his official entry into the Haitian music industry. He later contributed to the creation and development of influential groups such as Zetwal, Revelasyon, Genesis, Salem International, Nou2, Reskape Mizik, where his skills as a maestro and arranger became central.

Throughout the 2000s, Poppy multiplied major collaborations: Djakout Mizik (Manniguetta), Mass Konpa (Net Devan Devan, San Fè Yo (Ki mele’m)), Révélation Mizik (Viktwa), Julien Janvier (Prezans Ou), Jeanjean Roosevelt (Y’a Danger, 2013), Darline Desca (À Temps Plein, 2015), Rutshelle Guillaume (Émotions, 2014), BelO (Abondans feat. QueenBee, 2014; Motivasyon, 2019).

In parallel, he received several distinctions, including Artist of the Year (Souffle Matinale, 2003) and Best Male Voice (Association of Evangelical Radios, 2004).

In 2005, he launched his solo career with the album Préserve-moi (Kaché mwen), blending R&B, gospel, and compas. This was followed by major international tours across West Africa (Senegal, Mali, Niger, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Cameroon, Burkina Faso, Togo), Europe, and North America, notably through Bélo’s RFI tour in 2006.

In 2022, he released the album Espoir, an introspective project exploring his emotions, journey, struggles, and humanist vision. The album Âme Guidée, produced in collaboration with Venise Production (Europe & Africa), confirms his status as a spiritual, committed, and deeply creative artist. Today, Poppy Duverné is regarded as a maestro, mentor, and pillar of modern Haitian music, with an influence spanning gospel, compas, R&B, and world beat guided by love, discipline, spirituality, and artistic excellence.
