RèN Darah, whose real name is Nadwine Darah Muscadin, is a Haitian-Canadian artist whose musical universe blends Neo-Soul, R&B, jazz/soul, and Afro-Caribbean influences, including zouk, konpa, and rara. She began writing poetry in Port-au-Prince around the age of 10, before continuing to develop her artistic voice in Quebec from the age of 13, where she discovered artists such as India.Arie, Jill Scott, and Erykah Badu.
She built the early years of her career in Gatineau before establishing herself on stages across Quebec and Canada. A winner of Secondaire en spectacle and Cégep en spectacle in 2017–2018, she officially launched her professional career in 2019.
She subsequently performed at numerous festivals and events, including the Feaster Festival, Festival Outaouais en Fête, AfroFest, the Gatineau Hot Air Balloon Festival, as well as on several stages in Montreal.
In 2024, RèN Darah received the Female Voice of the Year award at the Kilimandjaro Music Awards, an important recognition within Canada's Afro-descendant music community.
In 2025, she released her second EP, Dédicace à la petite fille que j’étais (Dedicated to the Little Girl I Used to Be), a cathartic, feminist, and deeply spiritual project inspired by her Haitian roots and imagery connected to Vodou.
RèN Darah is a multidisciplinary artist: singer-songwriter, performer, dancer, self-producer, and artistic director of her own work. Her artistic identity combines a jazz/soul-influenced voice with poetic songwriting and an approach shaped by queer identity, feminism, Afro-ancestral spirituality, and a deep connection to Haitian culture.
Through her music, she explores identity, romance, spirituality, healing, femininity, and freedom while connecting contemporary Neo-Soul and R&B with the rhythms and cultural influences of her Haitian and Caribbean heritage.
