Born in Haiti, Nelson Pétion — professionally known as Topson — began his artistic journey as a gifted freestyler, winning competitions from the age of 12. At 16, he released his first track, “Mwen Rêve Ayiti Chanje,” marking the beginning of a promising career.

After forming the rap group Sinai B.E.S.E, he expanded his reach by moving to the United States to study Marketing, which opened doors to international collaborations and a broader audience. His 2010 collaboration with Fantom, “Pasyans,” became a major hit, followed by standout tracks such as “Nan New York,” “Timoun Yo,” and “Plon Gaye.”

Topson’s music blends Haitian cultural identity with American hip-hop influences. His inspirations include Ice Cube, Meek Mill, Tupac Shakur, and LL Cool J. His authenticity, lyrical depth, and emotional storytelling have earned him a strong fanbase, including over 1 million Instagram followers.

He has performed across Haiti, the U.S., and Latin America, notably delivering a major show at Teatro Caupolicán in Chile. Today, Topson continues to push Rap Kreyòl forward with new releases and a commitment to elevating Haitian culture worldwide.
